As the holiday season approaches, the spirit of giving becomes even more important. This year, on Giving Tuesday, December 2nd, Community Enhancement Collaboration, (CEC) invites you to join us in making a meaningful impact in our community.
At CEC our mission is to provide vital social services and food assistance to those in need. Each day, countless families face the challenges of food insecurity and financial hardship. With your support, we can continue to offer critical resources, nourishing meals, and a helping hand to those who need it the most.
This Giving Tuesday, we have set an ambitious goal to raise $25,000 to support our programs, including our food pantry, community meals, and holiday outreach efforts. Your contribution can help us provide not only food but also essential services that empower individuals and families to thrive.
Here are just a few ways your donation can make a difference:
- $50 provides a week’s worth of groceries for a family in need.
- $100 offers a warm meal for 10 individuals at our community dinners.
- $100 -$1,000 supports our holiday distribution program, ensuring that families receive food and gifts during the festive season.
Your generosity on Giving Tuesday allows us to continue our mission and expand our reach within the community. Every dollar count, and no donation is too small to make a difference.

Together, we can bring hope and support to those who need it most.
Thank you for considering being a part of our Giving Tuesday campaign. Your kindness and support truly matter, and together, we can create a stronger, more caring community.
With gratitude,
Nadine McCrea, CEC Founder/President
Our weekly food distribution program is in urgent need of support to continue serving our community. We require three key items to ensure the smooth running of our program.
• Firstly, we need a custom-built freezer worth $30,000 or less to set up a room area exclusively for meat distribution.
• Secondly, we require a custom-made awning worth $12,000 to continue our weekly food distribution program area.
• Lastly, we need a larger building for storage of non-perishables and larger supplies of personal items. Your support will enable us to continue providing essential aid to those in need. We appreciate any help you can offer.
We understand that a separate building cost may seem like a significant investment, but we hope to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who are struggling to make ends meet. Thus, we kindly request your generous donations to help us sustain this important program.
Community Enhancement Collaboration (CEC) is a grassroots organization established in 2005 by Nadine McCrea, a community leader, to address the needs of diverse, low, and moderate-income persons living in the City of Hollywood’s Washington Park neighborhood and surrounding area. CEC resulted from a long-standing effort since the 1980s to help neighbors deal with the challenges of food insecurity, neighborhood crime, and lack of access to social services.
CEC’s weekly food programs are client-focused. CEC partners with Feeding South Florida, Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation, United Way of Broward County, Wawa, Memorial Healthcare System, Winn Dixie, Publix, Walmart, ALDI, Bravo, Dollar General, Fresco, and Volunteer Broward. These partnerships help us provide the community with free food and essential needs products via client-choice food pantries, pop-up mobile food pantries, annual holiday food distributions, drive-thru food distributions, community deliveries, and emergency food distribution.
In addition to our current program, our partnership with the Children Services Council of Broward County provides us with the opportunity to have twenty-five (25) mobile food markets throughout the year in various communities located in Miramar, West Park, Hallandale, Dania, Hollywood, and Ft. Lauderdale, providing store-purchased items of fresh vegetables, meat, dairy products, and non-perishable food.
CEC also became a community hub for special family-friendly events, with music, educational resources, and food giveaways, together with volunteers and partners we host annual holiday events; Thanksgiving luncheon for senior citizens, caretakers, and grandparents. And toy distribution for children in the community.
